Wang Nengxian

Doctor of Literature of Peking University, deputy president, research fellow and doctor tutor of Chinese National Academy of Arts, he had engaged in the teaching and academic research of Chinese ancient literature in universities for a long time, later he worked in an institution under the Ministry of Culture of China, mainly engaged in the study on cultural policy and cultural theory. His main works include: academic works "Study on A New Account of Tales of the World", "Chewing the Cud---Analysis on Famous Ancient Chinese Essays and Poems", "On Cultural Construction---Speeches by Wang Nengxian"; annotated ancient book "Anthology of Weishuzi"; in charge of the "Book Series for the Construction of Socialist Cultural Theory with Chinese Characteristics", a key project for theoretical construction of the Ministry of Culture of China, in charge of the compilation of "How Does Chinese Culture Cope With WTO", 'eFootprints ---Interview with Renowned Writers", etc.

The Discernment of "Etiquette & Justice" and "Etiquette & Decorum"

China is honored as a country with an ancient civilization and a state of etiquette & justice. However, for reasons unknown, Chinese people had mistaken "a state of etiquette & justice" for "a state of etiquette & decorum".Furthermore, this mistake has been spread to various media such as books, magazines, newspapers,

broadcast,television and Internet, the mistake can be seen everywhere, as the old saying goes: a wrong repeated becomes right.Some people do not understand that although there is a difference of only a single word between "a state of etiquette & justice" and "a state of etiquette & decorum", the meaning changes greatly, the difference is thousands of miles apart in pattern, and they are as far apart as the land and sky, under such circumstances, the understanding, evaluation and position of the Chinese nation and its traditional culture will be affected, it is therefore necessary to write this thesis for discerning the difference, so as to arouse the attention of the academic circle and the society on this issue, to correct the errors and return to the source. The content of the thesis includes: 1. Explanation of "etiquette";

2.Explanation of "justice"; 3. Explanation of "decorum"; 4. Explanation of "etiquette & justice"; 5. Explanation of "etiquette & decorum"; 6. Discemment and conclusion.

 

王能宪

北京大学文学博士,现任中国艺术研究院副院长、研究员、博士生导师。长期在高校从事中国古代文学的教学和学术研究,后到文化部机关工作,主要从事文化政策和文化理论研究。主要著述包括:专著《世说新语研究》、 《含咀编——中国古代诗文名篇赏析》、 《文化建设论——王能宪演讲集》;校点古籍《魏叔子文集》;并主持文化部理论建设重点工程Ⅸ有中国特色社会主义文化理论建设丛书》,主编《中国文化如何应对WTO》、 《足迹——著名文学家采访录》等。

“礼义”与“礼仪”之辨

中国被誉为文明古国、礼义之邦。然而,国人却不知何故将“礼义之邦”误为“礼仪之邦”。并且,这一错误在书刊、报纸、广播、电视、网络等各种媒体中触目皆是,泛滥成灾,大有积非为是、愈演愈烈之势。殊不知“礼义之邦”与“礼仪之邦”这一字之差,涵义万殊,二者格局之大小相差万里,境界之高下何止天渊,如此将会影响到对中华民族及其传统文化的认识、评价和地位,故不得不撰文以辨析之,以期引起学界乃至社会对这一问题的重视,使之廓清谬误,回归本源。论文的内容包括:一、释“礼”;二、释“义”;三、释“仪”;四、释“礼义”;五、释“礼仪”;六、辨析与结论。
