ProspectsforamutuallybeneficialculturaldialoguebetweenChinaandAfrica

LadiesandGentlemen,IwouldfirstliketothanktheorganizersofthesemeetingsdevotedtoChinesecultureinthe21stcentury.Asyouknow,thecontinentofitshistoryhasbeenstronglymarkedbytheinfluenceofWesterncivilizationespecially
EnglishandFrenchasaresultofcolonization.ThepeculiarityofWesternculturehavesometimesignoredinitiallyculturesandcustomsofthecountriesformerlyundertheirdomination.Thisisnolongerthecasetodayorfortunatelyitpromotesinterculturaldialogue.Itisinthiscontextthatthesearefoundationsthatareagreatinitiative.Thisinitiativeisgoodinthatitallowsabetterunderstandinganddialoguebetweenpeoplesinordertoensureinternationalsolidaritypledgeoflastingpeace.
RegardingthedialoguebetweenAfricaandChina,wemustrememberthatitwasduringthelasttwodecadesofthe20thcenturyitbasbeenobserveddiversificationofculturalrelationsbetweenAfricaandtherestoftheworldnon-Western,especiallyAsiancountries,includingChina.ThisdiversificationhasbeenfacilitatedbytheopeningofChinaitselfwhoseeconomicpowerhasincreasedasaresultofreformsintheearly1990s.Withtheconquestofmarkets,economicandculturalexchangeshaveintensified.Weremarktodayintheeconomicfieldwithmajorinfrastructure
projectsinmanyAfricancountriescarriedoutwiththeassistanceofChineseworkers.ItisthesameintheculturalfieldwithparticularexposuresChinesecrafts,film,danceandentertainmentthatcanfacilitatecontactswhilestrengtheninginterculturaldialogue.
ParticularlyinAfricaandtheDemocraticRepublicofCongo,weappreciatethepositiveopeningofChina,whichhasstrikingsimilaritieswiththeCongoleseculture,thespiritofsolidarityandmutualaid,ancestorworship,respectof
