Dignityisasignofaperson,anationandanationality,andisoneofthemostpowerfulandprominentvoicesinmodernChineseculture.Inordertomakeourliveshappierandmoredignified,thisisbecausedignityrepresentstheimmensepoweroftheChineseculture,butalsobringsanation'sconfidenceandvaluestogether.Withoutdignity,anationoranationalitycouldnothavepowerfulandcontinuousinfluence,wouldnotgainunderstandingandrespectfromothers,andwouldnotdevelopinfuture.Facedwithvariousglobalcompetitions,thecompetitionabout
dignity,whichrepresentsnationandnationality,willcomeaccompaniedwithpolitics,economicsandculture.Thehighestvalueofbeingrespectedbytheworldistheglobalizationofanation'sculture.Withthehighlevelofcultureconsciousnessandnationalconfidence,Chineseshouldenhancetheoverallqualityofitscitizensandshapethehighstandardsofcharacter,tocultivateandrepresentournationaldignity.Ifwetakedignityasthebinderofanation,thecultureexchangeisthelubricantandthecatalystfortherepresentationofChinesedignity.

葛承雍

1955年7月生，陕西西安人。1986年至1995年，为西北大学文博学院讲师、副教授、教授。2006年西北大学文化遗产专业博士生导师，2008年中国审美文化史专业博士生导师，2008年被国家文物局评聘为第一批专业二级技术岗位。1993年被国务院批准为享受政府特殊津贴专家。

1993年任西北大学文博学院副院长，1995年任西北大学图书馆馆长，2003年任中国文物研究所副所长，2005年任文物出版社总编辑。

现为北京大学、西北大学、首都师范大学等院校兼职教授。国家文物局文物编辑委员会副主任，中华炎黄文化研究会常务理事，并为多类学术团体常务理事、理事等。

个人尊严、国家尊严、民族尊严与华人文化交流

尊严是一个人、一个国家和一个民族的标志，也是当代华人文化中最有震撼力的声音之一。要让人民生活得更加幸福、更有尊严，因为尊严不仅代表着中华民族强大的文化力量，也凝聚着民族的自信心与价值观。没有尊严的国家和民族无法形成强大持久的感召力，也无法赢得全世界的理解与尊重，更不会真正的崛起。面对国际上的各种竞争，代表国家、民族的尊严之争也必然伴随着政治经济文化一起涌现，一个国家被世界尊敬的最高价值就在于它的文化被广泛国际化。中华民族必须以高度的文化自觉和民族自信，着眼于提高国民素质和塑造高尚人格，培养与体现我们民族整体的尊严。如果说尊严是一个民族的黏合剂，那么文化交流就是中华民族尊严展现的润滑剂、催化剂。
